ActivateDigital does not treat textile passport preparation as a set of empty fields for someone to fill in. It starts from the product data and documents you already hold, resolves values against the product and its scope, uses a governed calculation only where a method allows one, keeps conflicting evidence visible and leaves unsupported values unresolved. The 22-field textile model is a readiness and data-governance framework, not the statutory textile passport schema.
Start with the textile data you already have
A product code, a spreadsheet, a supplier declaration, a care label photograph or a barcode are all starting points. So is a catalogue export from the platform you sell on. The first pass reads what you have rather than asking you to describe it.
The 22-field model is a readiness model, not a legal checklist
The product-specific textile act under ESPR has not been adopted. There is no settled statutory field list for textiles and nobody can hand you one. The 22 fields ActivateDigital tracks are a readiness and governance model: product facts worth establishing and evidencing now, so that a substantial part of the product's evidence foundation is already governed while the final textile requirements develop. It is not a draft of the schema and it does not promise to cover every field the act eventually names.
This page does not state a textile compliance deadline, because one has not been set. Dates and current status belong to Knowledge and are kept current there.

Almost everything downstream in a textile record depends on two things being settled: what the product is made of, and which product you are talking about. Composition arrives as a label claim, a supplier declaration and sometimes a test report, and those three do not always agree. Identity decides whether the passport belongs to the style, the colourway, the size or the batch.

- Established: a value carried by evidence, with the source and the date kept beside it.
- Derived: a value a governed method produces from established inputs, with the method recorded as part of the answer.
- Unresolved: a value nothing supports. It stays unresolved and named, rather than being guessed at a plausible number.
A suggestion is not evidence. Where reading is done by model rather than by rule, the output is a proposal that still has to pass the same tests as anything else.
Conflicts are not silently overwritten
When the label, the declaration and the test report disagree, all three are kept against the product and the value is marked conflicted. You decide, and the decision is recorded with what it was decided from.
