An image file can carry structured metadata alongside the pixels, and a product identifier written there travels with the picture through renaming, re-uploading and most copying. This tool writes that metadata in your browser. It does not change how the image looks, and metadata can still be stripped by a platform that chooses to.

A filename is the first thing anyone changes and the last thing anyone checks. The identifier belongs in the file, where a machine can read it without being told which picture it is looking at.
